"Mindscapes #9, after Cajal" is an audiovisual experiment that tensions the relationship between nature and culture, tracing a counterpoint between territory and velocity.

The work of Fernando Velázquez (b. 1970, Montevideo, Uruguay) include videos, interactive installations, objects, and audiovisual performances. He has a Master in Fashion, Art, and Culture by Senac-SP, and he participates in exhibitions in Brazil and abroad, highlighting the Art and Technology, e.g. Biennial Emoção Art.ficial (Brazil, 2012), Mapping Festival (Switzerland, 2011), WRO Biennale (Poland, 2011), Mercosul Biennale (Brazil, 2009), Ventosul Biennale (Brasil, 2009), Thessaloniki Biennale (Greece, 2009) and the Pocket Film Festival at Centre Pompidou (France, 2007).
He attained, among others, the Sergio Motta Art and Technology Award (Brazil, 2009), Locative Media Arte.Mov (Brazil, 2008) and Vida Artificial (Spain, 2008). He was the curator of Motomix 2007, Papernind Brasil, Dorkbot Sao Paulo and !wr? project, is a professor at PUC University and lives and works in São Paulo.
